Inwood Park, My Home away from Home

I am one of the lucky ones! In March 2020 when we all had to suddenly work from home, I discovered how important it is to go outside and walk around each day. This has developed into a routine of walking or "going out to see the ducks" at least twice a day, rain or shine. It is just a few short blocks to Inwood park, home to a tidal marsh that changes throughout the day. Low tide brings the smell of the marsh, mud and wading birds including our resident herons. High tide is the time to watch ducks land feet first and keep an eye out for an osprey who lucky birders see swooping down to try to catch fish. This is a dynamic landscape filled with birds, squirrels and other creatures as well as "pods" of people playing in groups scattered across the fields.
